Goals
- Development of a user-centered, flexible solution for a human-machine interface for standard and special mixing and dosing systems
- Create a selection matrix for the Head of Mechanical Engineering, taking into account the aspects of user/operator ergonomics, technology (hardware, software), commercial, environmental (standards, regulations, heritage, marketing, etc.)
Initial situation / problem:
- Current human-machine interfaces of existing machines and systems have gradually grown in a rather uneven and developer-centric manner over several years
- The main drivers of the human-machine interface have so far been the directly available technical possibilities (S7 controller with Simatic HMI) and the individual customer application
- Partially heterogeneous compilation through separate, independent control types for process engineering and axis control
- This makes the overall user interface rather complex and designed for the “maximum case”
Main tasks
- Analysis of the current situation: Functions of the systems, minimum and maximum designs, user types, system and control structure, technical constraints and requirements
- Literature research on human-machine interfaces, ergonomics, machine operation: standards, recommendations, best practices
- Creating a requirements catalog for the human-machine interface
- Creating a general operating concept: user definitions and roles, number of operating levels, assignment of functionalities
- Creating a technical concept: hardware and software components, interfaces, integration
- Market research for hardware and software components; if necessary, direct coordination with the respective manufacturers
- Development of a selection matrix of various solution options in the combination of hardware and software with the respective degree of fulfillment of the requirements
- If necessary, pre-evaluation or prototyping of the most attractive solutions
- Develop a solution recommendation for the Head of Mechanical Engineering / for the Managing Director
- Interdisciplinary understanding
- Initiative and independent work
- Open-mindedness for new areas and in dealing with colleagues and manufacturers
- Good compatibility of theory and practice
- German preferred, English or other languages by arrangement
